Now look here you lot, but mainly Bill and Sandra,
I was not talking about cosmetics, but making a serious point about the human race being obsessed with appearance; light races wanting their skin darker, and dark races wanting their skin lighter.
Honestly!
I'm too intelligent for this planet. When's the Mother Ship going to make contact?

Lisa,
May I compliment you on your skill at anagrams?

Kevin,
I must admit I had to check the spellings of your names very carefully. I have known a Pallette and a Tullett!

Aarghhhh! This waffle zone is a difficult place to be first thing in the morning. So much information for my little alien brain to contend with. My people landed here many years ago and somehow managed to leave without me. Was it some kind of punishment? I have no recollection. It is a strange place, this planet of yours. There is no logic. I have tried to blend in, with I hope, some degree of success but it hasn't been easy. And although I may not understand many of the posts on this forum I feel that I have achieved a degree of acceptance. And for that I thank you. When my people realise that they have left me behind (as surely they must) and return to take me back to my own world, I will see to it that you are all adequately rewarded. In the meantime we must all soldier on and support each other in making as much sense of things as we are able.

Now I must go and trade my time for some of your money because, I am told that, money makes the world go 'round and I wouldn't wish to be the one responsible for stopping your planet from spinning.

Tony

Watch it, you lot - Paul's mention of beards has already caused this thread to be red-flagged and my finger is poised over the auto-destruct button. I will not have beards taken in vain. Apart from anything else, they are a wonderful refuge for wildlife and anyone with any ecological conscience should grow one (well, perhaps not the women)

Gosh Steve ... I never thought about that ... could this be where the nosbignacnud's will come from :D

But on a more serious note ... we should be more respectful towards beards as their numbers have reduced considerably since Victorian times.

Erm Lisa ... Duncan Gibson is a little bit backwards

Hi Paul (and Noe!)

I like anagrams and quite often make anagrams of peoples' names... including my own! My maiden name becomes "like a sh*t" (sadly) which I hope is a question and not a general statement of opinion! My married name is only marginally better though - Lisa Borrett - but this is definitely too nice a forum to get into that! Queen of Waffle becomes A queen flew off (I usually like to change ALL the words, but that was the best I could come up with!). Carol Townsend becomes Landowner Cost, and Paul Tallet becomes that well-known French Milkmaid... Teat La Pull !! Even The Chief himself becomes See Lover Two!

I have WAAAAY too much spare time on my hands!!

Noe and Gary
Fear not, Mr. Jeff Peckman of Denver has made a film of his local aliens, to be shown shortly apparently. See, they are on their way to collect you.

Lisa,
I like "Teat La Pull", but I'm not sure about "See Lover Two"; Steve being a respectable (and bearded) married man.

Sandra,
I had to google to find out who Jeff Peckman is. He sounds like an ideal member of this forum!

Monsieur La Pull,
If you don't tell me who Duncan Gibson is I'm going to grow a beard! I tried Google, but there doesn't seem to be one of any great interest (with apologies to all the Duncan Gibsons in the world.)
And have you read past page 1 of this thread yet?

Bill and the bots,
I can't work out "Hot Blind Stable" at this time of night; my brain is due to switch off.
To put you out of your misery, free -range cosmetics are made from oils derived from free-ranging plants; that is, allowed to roam outdoors during the day, and only caged at night to protect them from predators, as opposed to battery plants, which never set root outdoors for the whole of their short lives.
OK?

I'm off. Will try to locate Duncan Gibson in the morning. Send for the mermaids.
Night all, sleep well.
Have a good evening Young Bill.

Good Evening, All (or 'Night / Afternoon / Middle of the day... )

Hot Blind Stable is Bill and The Bots (nice one Bill! I'm glad it's not only me!). Perhaps Steve should be "Oo, Wet Revels!", which brings to mind damp chocolate sweets! I miss Revels! Do they still make them in the UK... and do you still bite into them hoping for an orange-centred one and getting a coffee creme or breaking your teeth on a toffee one!!?

I wonder if I can convince Morshead to import Revels... just for me!!? =P~

Hello to "A Hike List" and everybody else,

I see that Ali-Baba (Steph or Brian ?) is on line with me.

Just a quick posting before leaving for the weekend. Try to keep everything under control while I'm gone.

Hello Folks!
I've joined another forum
It's a writers forum called Helium; a US site but no-one's perfect.
There is a minimum limit for articles of 400 words, and a maximum of around 1500 words. That's more like it! I can manage 1500 words just in the introduction!
Guess what? I posted "Nan's Lost Knickers" in the "Family Memories" section, and it's been ranked by other members as 17 out of 63 articles in that category. I'm right chuffed.
Of course, it could just be one person sitting reading them all, but I've asked for people's comments on my masterpiece.
I want a certain amount of honesty, but I hope the people there are as nice as you all are! [-o<
I'm very grateful for all the encouragement you have given me, and if I do well over there, maybe I'll start researching magazines with a view to publishing...

And Steve, I must say that the site is no where near as easy to use as this one!

Another thing- whilst watching the England versus T&T football match last night, Himself said that if we'd been in Castara he would have liked to watch it in a bar with some locals, then said he'd like to go back; maybe for 3 weeks!!!!!
This may not happen until we retire, but never mind; things are looking up! I must continue to encourage him in that thought...
Love
Noe
