Drive time estimates

Post by Camille M »

Hello everyone,

Can someone share time estimates for getting from point A to point B via rental car (along with route recommendations if there's more than one way to get there...)?

-Crown Point to Castara
-Castara to Charlotteville
-Charlotteville to Crown Point

Many thanks and best regards,
Camille

Hi Camille, I would say it depends on the purpose of your trip. If it is just to get from point A to point B as fast as possible then Davids times are pretty close. Except going from Charlotteville to Crown Point via the windward road I have made it in 1.5 hours you should be able to do it in 2 to 2.5. I have also done the C-ville to Castara trip in 45 minutes.

Now if you are going to be sight seeing and stopping you should figure on more time.

Crown point to Castara via Plymouth and Moriah might take 2 to 3 hours stopping at Buccoo and some of the beaches between there and Plymouth and you can't miss Mount Dillon.

Castara to Charlottevile might take 2 hours stopping at Englishman's Bay, Parlatuvier, Bloody Bay and some of the pull offs.

Charlotteville to Crown Point doesn't have as many sights so you might figure on 3 to 3.5 hours stopping at Flagstaff Hill and Speyside look out.

It also depends on how quick you make any stops, the time of day, weather, road work, heavy equipment being transported, weddings, funerals, check points and any side trips you may want to take like waterfalls, little tobago, pirates bay, etc..

I would figure a whole day to do the round trip. You also may want to stop for some lunch and/or at least a Carib or 2. Hope this helps, Phil

Thanks, Phil!

We definitely will be stopping for some photo ops, but I figured it would be helpful to have the 'base' drive times to help determine how to pace ourselves and plan out our driving itinerary. I appreciate the additional feedback. :)
