10 days in September?

Post by Jo B »

Hello all

I am hoping to go back to Tobago in September, but this time for various reasons I will probably be going alone. As a result, I'm not sure I want to go for a full two weeks, but one week is too short for the distance. Can anyone suggest a way of just going for 10 days in the low season? I'm not sure it will be possible, as XL and Virgin only seem to fly one day a week, and those are very close together. I suppose one way would be to investigate Port of Spain flights, but not sure I would gain much with the extra travel time either end.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Jo x

Hello Jo, British Airways fly on Thursdays and Sundays in September, but its not cheap, nearly double XL. Met a woman from Canada at Castara in January who had been on the island alone for over a month. She'd had no problem at all making friends with locals, and other visitors, and was having a great time. I don't see two weeks on Tobago a problem at all! Hope this helps, Regards, Jack.

Hi Jo-
I agree -- go for 2 wks. When you have your dates & accommodations set, start a thread on this board & make arrangements to hook up with others. We did that the last time & met some real interesting people.

Thanks for the comments. I might investigate BA, or then again might go for two weeks! Just wanted to save a bit of holiday for later in the year if I was going on my own. Will stay in Castara, or possibly split with Charlotteville for some diving with Caribstu, depending on how long I go for. I have holidayed alone before, but not in Tobago.

Will put my thinking cap back on.....
