Power Supply

Post by ChrisNellist »

Hi, I am new to this forum and I'm travelling to Tobago for the first time in just over a week's time... obviously I am as excited as a kid at Christmas!!!

I haven't travelled outside of the EU before so I am not too sure what power supply to expect at the Coco Reef hotel. I have read the pages on this brilliant website and others on the subject of Tobago but I have yet to be enlightened on the specific power supply. I have read both 110v and 220v may be available in different hotels on the Island.

Can anyone who has been to the Coco Reef help me with this? Also is it wise to invest in an adaptor that protects against electrical surges?

I have emailed the hotel direct, but have had no response as of yet.

Many thanks in advance to anyone that replies?

Chris

PS - Well done Steve on an excellent website... I have spent many an hour daydreamin on it in anticipation of my holiday!!!

Hi Chris

Welcome aboard! :D

For details of power supplies in Tobago, have a quick look at our article available through the menu bar above (Odds & Sods > Practicalities > Electricity). Basically, although higher voltage is available in a few places, most hotels (including the Coco Reef Resort) use 110v with standard two-pin flat American plugs.
