Has anyone recently played golf in Tobago, what are the course's like. Does anyone have any photo's of the golf courses ??

Well they're kind of flat, covered in grass and increadible green even when it's dry season. There's these long bits, eighteen of them, each with a little hole at the end. I dont know much about golf, I've only played twice before, both times in the desert in Australia and it was all sand and we drunk beer and it was all rather simple, but there's not much skill needed really to walk around ( though some people are so increadibly lazy they dont even walk, they drive these little ice cream carts ) and knock a ball in a hole. But from what i understand you're actually supposed to take yourself all a bit too serious really, and, here's the funny thing, they actually call it a sport, can you believe that? It's more like a giant game of tiddly winks played outside. Oh by the way, they also use up lots and lots of water to keep the green bits green on a small island which has a severly limited amount of fresh water and struggles to supply people's homes with basic water needs.

When we were there in Mar 07 some people at our resort played the course at Mt.Irvine most every day and were satisfied with it. Have a good time.

glad you could see the funny side of my sarcasm.... i doubt the golfers will, they do take themselves seriously dont they, but then i guess you can't have much of a sense of humour if they're gonna seriously walk round in those trousers looking like huggy bear from starsky and hutch. ..though i sure if i took you on Picker or Bannochburn in a three knot current with your bubbles going DOWN! you'd change your mind about lazying around underwater... tobago diving can be hard work, but you're right, i also find it funny that people sometimes refer to diving as a 'sport' .... maybe we can get scuba diving in the 2012 olympics, a special diving event for the London games, you jump in the Thames and the first diver to find anything other than an old tyre and a shopping trolley wins... wait a minute?... that sounds like Stoney Cove?

Well, as neither a golfer nor a diver, I can only say that those who spend their days wearing tight-fitting rubber and trying to look macho whilst often having to pee in their own pants are perhaps tempting fate by throwing stones at those who enjoy other pastimes.

Come on Matt, take your No 1 club to him.

I have 2-3 photos of Mt Irvie Golv Course, taken when passing on the road, one part is on the hotel side the other is on the other side! The photos aren´t taken ON the course only frpm the road passiong Mt Irvine Hotel. I´m at work now but if you would like to see them I can reply again when at home.

OOOOOh gosh some of us can hold it steve...i might not pee in meh wetsuit but i laughin so hard right now i might just pee in meh pants. That was funny.

one thing Golfers do well though is 'etiquette'. I wish divers would learn that. I cannot understand how or why dive boats will all go to the same dive site on the same day at the same time when there's 26 other dive sites to choose from. Or drop on top of divers who are already on that dive site. Thats like 50 people turning up at a golf course to play golf and all trying to tee - off on the 8th at the same time.

Personally i rather let other divers 'play through' and wait till the fairway is clear.

enough of the golfing analogies, but diving would benefit from a little golfing etiquette for sure though i doubt we'll ever get pringle wetsuits, we're like Max Moseley and enjoy the rubber too much

Pringles in your wetsuit? Good heavens, this is getting worse by the minute. The thought of all those broken and crushed sharp little potato crisps between tight rubber and your skin is too horrible to contemplate. Anyway, we're wandering off topic, so enough!

Coming in over two years after the last post is a bit late. but i am new to my tobago, But i really gotta say that GOLF is the best ever game ever created by god. it compares to nothing else TIDDLY WINKS ba i cant beleave it. ive played frozen ive played in Arizona, yes mad but o what fun, give it ago. less than 85 shots to get round ( not easy ) and you can then say you`ve played golf. back swing, slice, hook,up, down, in one, in the hole, yeah
