Tobago to Grenadines

Post by Mandy H »

Hi there,

My partner and I are travelling to Tobago for the 3rd time in March - can't wait!! This time we're planning to do a short trip to the Grenadines in the middle of our two week stay.

As we're starting to plan it now, I thought I'd ask if anyone has any advice about which islands to stay on, and how to get around! We're trying to keep costs down, and have already seen that we'll be able to do that accomodation wise wherever we go.

So...we have not yet decided on which islands to do. We have done several day trips to the Grenadines in the past, and LOVED Mayreau, we have also heard Bequia is stunning, and wondered if anyone has any advice about how to get there, or whether there are any other small islands we should look at.

We want to chill out, enjoy time snorkelling and on the beach, and eat well but cheaply at night! Any thoughts? :D

Thanks for your help in advance, Mandy

Hi Mandy
Haven´t been in the Grenadines for long time now, but I believe it´s still possible to use the post boat. A small vessel who did go up-down the Grenadines twice a week with start in St Vincente.

Bequia is quiet, small and nice, they have a small airport now. You should skip Mustique if you don´t want to pay nearly twice as much for mostly things there.

Sometimes it was possible to hire a boat to go sailing up-down the Grenadines, someone else might have fresh news for you here?

Hi Mandy

The easiest way to get to the Grenadines is via air. You can fly with Liat from Tobago to Barbados or Grenada and take SVG Airlines from there to connect to Union Island or Carriacou, Mustique or Canouan depending on where your starting point is. If you wish to go to Bequia, you would have to go to St. Vincent first and connect from there!

Thanks for the replies :D

Does anyone have any advice about which islands to visit? We're currently looking at a night on Union and a couple of nights in Mayreau with a trip to the Tobago Cays - any other suggestions or must visit islands/things to do?
