i don't know if anybody have an idear of how long it will takes to sent a letter/big letter to Tobago from Denmark? I'm in this situation that I'm going to help my friend to come on a vacation here in Denmark and therefore he has to apply for a Schengen Visa, so I have some few question i really hope sopmebody maybe have some information about that. Also he has to shift plain in London and I know UK is not a part of Schengen, so is he also going to have a Visa to the UK when he comes from Tobago. Wrote a email to the english Embassy - but no response
I thought everything was easy - but it seems a bit difficult right now

I dont know if he need to have a visa for coming to Denmark. It would be nice if anybody knows a little bit off this things.
Måske kunne vi ringe sammen, for vi har også en ven vi gerne ville invitere hertil, men det er måske meget vanskeligt, jeg har aldrig undersøgt det.
Du kan maile eller ringe til mig.
Sitizens of T&T didn´t need a Visa to go to UK, I know that UK was talking about that because their Immigration did have problems with false passorts from T&T, but I don´t know if UK really activated that rule.
To get a Schengen Visa he will have to go twice across to Trinidad, to the Embassy of Netherlands in PoS, first to apply, including 2-3 photos and his passport, and than to pick up the passport with the Visa.
A letter to T&T can take anytime between 2 - 6 weeks, I doesn´t send much letters anymore, faster and better to use e-mail.
You will have to write and send a Letter of Invitation to the person, the fastest way is to wite the letter, sign it, scan it and include the letter into an e-mail.
You can also send the letter by UPS, they have an office i Scarborough and they deliver the letter to the person. It cost more of cours but it´s for sure more safe and the letter will be in Tobago in 3 working days.
hey Ronald
i also looked around on the internet and it seems like they do not need a visa to go to the UK - but need to be sure before i Buy the flight ticket - yes all the Schengen Visa I know about - only that i know they also have to show a bank statement to the dutch embassy on trinidad with a specific amount of money on this statement but how much does somebody knows that?

Never heard about that before from persons visiting Europe. I have local friends in T&T who quite regullary goes to Europe on their own, never heard they having problems iwith the Immigration. I know that the rules of Schengen-Visa allow Immigration to check if the person have money enought, but that seems to differ from Immigration and country.
I only write in my Invitation that I´ll take full responsibility for all expenses during their visit, never had any problems.
But if they can´t show any evidence in the Letter of Invitation, than they might ask when asking for a Visa.
They do need some money in UK of course for travelling and a room when going back, but that´s only a question of 200£ or so.

Rafle, just another point regarding the Schengen visa requirements. I believe that the visa applicant has to show that he is covered by health insurance when applying for the visa. If your friend does not belong to a employer's health plan, he will need to take out a health insurance plan - I had researched this for another friend of mine, and if your friend needs to do this, he should contact American Life and General Insurance Company (Algico), which is based on St. Vincent Street in Port of Spain. They offer a health insurance policy which will be valid in Europe. Hope this helps,
