Hello,
I am getting married in Tobago in early January. It is our first trip to Tobago and I was wondering if I will be able to use my bank card at cash machines there. There are only two symbols on the back of my card, 'Plus' and 'Interac'. I appreciate any feedback.
Thanks!

Hello Simone
Welcome aboard!
As far as I can tell, Interac is a Canadian service and can only be used in Canada. However, PLUS is an international service. Can you see a VISA or Mastercard logo on the back of your card? If so, you should have no problem with the card anywhere in the world. If in doubt, call you bank and check with them.

Thank you Steve for the quick reply and welcome!
I don't have the Mastercard or Visa logo but will check with my bank--I know I've used it before in Costa Rica at Scotia Banks, so I guess that was using the 'Plus' network.
I also wanted to say I've been an avid reader/visitor to mytobago and have found it to be the most excellent and comprehensive site I've ever seen for any country I've visited (or dreamed of visiting!), good work!

There are three branches of Scotia Bank on Tobago
One at Crown Point, close to the Coco Reef Hotel, a second at the shopping mall at Lowlands and another in Scarborough.
For other ATM locations see - http://www.mytobago.info/cashmachines.php
Take only photos - leave only footprints. I like that concept.

Simone, the web site for one of the local banks (Republic Bank) says that their machines will accept cards with any of the following logos - Maestro, MasterCard, Plus, and Visa. I suspect that the other banks' ATMs should be similar. Scotiabank's site says that their ATMs accept Cirrus cards. Hope this helps.

Hi Simone,
I used my German bank card with the pin number a couple of years ago and could get money from almost any machine. I has a maestro sign but I heard you can use any bank card.
Good luck and all the best for your marriage!
Cheers

Thank you all very much for your replies! We're counting down the days to our arrival in the sun--we're freezing up here in Toronto, can't wait!
