Paul,

Why in the H*ll are you spending so much time on the internet when you're in paradise #-o That behavior should be reserved for those of us stuck back here in the snow and cold :( You should be out and about and enjoying a rum punch or two %*}

It's called time management Bill.

When I get the chance to sit here on my balcony overlooking the most outrageous and beautiful scenery that you can imagine ... I get on here and say 'hello'. Other than that I am face-down in the Bay most of the time or driving wrecklessly around to my favourite places and sucking it all in.

In fact ... I still can't believe I am here ... could someone confirm that to me please ...

... i guess when the SFBC (Sand Fly Bite Count) reaches 100 I will know that I am here for real

Anyway ... the weather today has been absolutely glorious, the sea is calm and great for snorkelling.

Regards ... luvin' it ...

Paul:

My husband and I have been avidly reading your weather reports as we make our first ever trip to Tobago on Sunday evening. We have truely enjoyed all of the wonderful information on this site and are greatful to our travel agent for selecting such a perfect place...I believe we'll be instant junkies...and not just because the temperature will suddenly go up 60+ degrees =D>

Thanks a TON for the up to date and on site reports, but we're leaving the laptops at home...it'll be the first time I've been in an airport without one in over 10 YEARS!!! I was SOOOO happy to hear in one of Steve's posts that the island ISP isn't too reliable....WOOHOOOOO!!!!

Still Shivering in Buffalo!!!!

Hi Murph

I guess the heat will be quite a shock to you.

Today has been lovely again. One belter of a shower this morning while I was in Mount Irvine and a nagging cloud over Crown Point but elsewhere has been great.

The river in Castara has come right up to the Naturalist (Ancle not happy!).

The sea is still calm ... naff sunset this evening though.

Thanks Peter

Today looks like another beautiful day but there was some rain overnight and the sat loops indicate some moisture is around so there could be a few showers.

The waves are starting to pick up a little so there may be 4 or 5 days of top quality snorkelling left before the visibility declines.

I took a heavy beating 2 nights ago from the sand flies and several bites on one ankle has given me severe swelling from my knees down to my toes. So will be struggling into my flipper boots today.

The SFBC is now countless but I only got one bite last night.

Right then ... go feed the birds and then breakfast

Weather sounds gorgeous north and south (thank you David).
Poor Paul. Looks like your pants doensn't work properly against sandflies... You know that rum does help? %*} You can put it on the bites or you can drink it. To drink it does not easy the itching but it makes you more relaxed. So maybe you just don't care.

Should I do a spin-off waffle about each day or would Carole get jealous?

Spin around as much as you like Paul ( the spinning waffle?) but just because you're subversive doesn't mean you can spell my name with an e! Carol- no- e. Remember? I'm getting all prima-donna-ish now...
Have a stupendous time and carry on with your diary of the Adventures of Subversive Pete. (Volume One)

Gisela, you have mentioned the under*****s AGAIN!!!! [-X

Sorry Gisela, I've just seen that it was PAUL who brought up the subject of underpants on the sightseeing thread!

I hate to say this, but as Paul brought the subject up, I feel I can...

Paul - have you considered that there is a connection between your pants and the fact that you are so susceptible to sand fly bites? We know that mosquitoes and other nasties are attracted by certain smells and advise visitors to avoid perfumed toiletries, etc. However, perhaps we are missing more ‘natural’ smells.

In the interest of medical research, I feel you have a duty to myTobago readers to dispense with all undergarments for the rest of your holiday and to let us know whether this makes any difference to your ‘biteability’.

Hi Paul, well I spoke to soon ,we have had a gentle rain for about an hour now(its 0730)but up your way it looks very black.I agree yesterday was gorgeous even the Atlantic at Rockly looked inviting.
Two tour ships in yesterday so all the bars were heaving as nothing else was open.Had no problems getting served being a regular a few of the shipmates were a bit miffed at my apparent q-jumping though.
David,slightly damp in Carnbee. :D %*}

Hmmm ...

Gisela ... thank you for your thoughts but Rum does not seem to work unless I take it orally and then it helps me sleep through the pain.

Carol ... I am sorry ... I am always hopeless with names ... I have been meeting this lovely gentleman here for years and call him Keith but his real name is Chris ... he looks more like a Keith than a Chris for some reason and that is how it works ... never mind but please accept my apologies for getting your name wrong yet again ... The 'Adventures of Subversive Pete in Tobago' will be published on my return, it's shaping up nicely ... not sure where to post it though ... in the bin perhaps?

Steve ... you could be right ... I have been experimenting with(out) under garments since I arrived ... one of the most interesting results is that underpants have given me full protection when worn and it was noticeable last night that when I wore socks for the first time that my feet were left untouched ... however ... the use of such under garments led to very high level attacks at other parts of my anatomy ... medical attention is being applied to these parts as I speak.

Speaking of last night (I wasn't actually but I am going to) ... oh boy, did we have a party here or did we have a party ... Ancle was being a little tight on the Rum so I got him to add some more so we could all taste it ... erm, it was actually a good move on hindsight ... all the decent people went home and all the indecents stayed and the whole thing got messy and ended up in the sea at around 0200 this morning ... the full blame has to go to this amazing and totally mad Canadian lady who has been allowed out of her country for the first time in her life ... the perfect partner to go swimming with Moray Eels (ooops  did I really say that?) ... I will try to get her to register on this forum ...

... so back to topic ... I have been woken this morning with heavy rain or should I call it heavy when it shows up as cloud on the satloops? Anyway it is all clearing up now ... sea calm but picking up ... sun hot as ever ... SFBC countless ... birds all happy ... everything happy ... things have to change !!

Not sure what to do today ... need things to do, places to go and people to upset ... go east I say ... I will have to wait until my hung-over son, James, wakes up ...

... watch this space

Paul,
you must get your Canadian friend to register here, she sounds perfect! And you are one of the indecent people I take it? It sounds like your diary will be a riveting read, please don't post it in the bin.
I forgive you for the mistake in my name; I spent five years calling a lady Beryl when her name was Brenda!
Carry on my good man!
