Tropikist vs Toucan Inn vs Sandy Point ?? HELP!!

My boyfriend and I will be visiting Tobago to celebrate the New Year. It's coming very close to booking a hotel, and I am still undecided. Ideally, I am looking for a small, charming, romantic hotel which is reasonably priced and offers good service, clean spacious rooms and is located close to a beach. Can anyone compare Tropikist, Toucan Inn and Sandy Point?

Hi Cara Fingers crossed - let's hope that you haven't left it too late to book wherever you decide, if you want to celebrate New Year’s Eve there.

You’ve chosen three very different properties. Given the preferences you express, the Toucan Inn is a very good choice and fits your preferences a lot closer than either the Tropikist (hmmm!!) or Sandy Point (a fairly large complex, but reports have been positive).

Others to think of: In the Crown Point area - Kariwak Village (don’t be put off by the thought of too many beards and sandals, it’s really nice and not at all like the name suggests). Moving further afield, the Seahorse Inn could be an ideal choice, as could the Blue Waters Inn at Speyside. Please let us all know how you get on.

My wife & I returned from Tobago Wed. Dec. 12. We stayed in a Cabana at the Crown Point Beach Hotel at $80 US per night for 14 nights. We were delighted. Cabanas are spaced on very spacious lawned grounds, you can lounge on chaise lounges right outside your door or walk the 100 yards down to Store Bay public beach. Our best way to recommend it is by simply saying we'll return. PS. the cabanas have a kitchenette with sizeable fridge. Cheers!

Cara- I hope you have a wonderful trip to Tobago. PLEASE update or email me personally about your experience at Sandy Point, because we are going on our honeymoon there in June-- and I have yet to hear any first hand experiences/pointers. Thanks in advance- and happy new year Emily [email protected]
