Hi Matt
Impossible to predict, especially with the way the weather has been unusual this year.
In normal circumstances you should expect sunshine, showers and fresh winds.

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Our Canadian prairie winter can often linger on long past when it should. This seems to be the case with the rainy season in Tobago this year. We just returned from 2 weeks in Castara and it was impossible to get any accurate prediction of what the weather was going to be like. As we soon learned the most accurate forecast was "wait and see". We had quite a mixture of weather with on and off again showers and sunshine. Quite frankly we found the sun to be very intense and often welcomed the cloudy periods and brief showers that appeared without notice over the hills behind Castara. Only had one day when it rained pretty much all day but we were still down on the beach at Little Bay with frequent visits to the Boat House beach bar which was a welcome haven rain or shine. We did have a stretch of about 4 days that was pretty much all sun and everyone was relieved saying the dry season had finally arrived. Not to be. On our last full day, the 19th, we were greeted with rain in the morning. However, as it did most days that it was raining when we woke, by noon the skies had cleared and we had wonderful weather the rest of the day. As mentioned earlier under this topic the seas were running very high and heavy a lot of the time. Our last day the waves were breaking well out into the bay, something that had not happened before.

As I have not seen any comments/complaints since Sat from Castara or C'ville, can only assume they had the same great weather we did all day Sat and mostly Sunday...beautiful. Who is sitting in front of a computer when the sun is finally out..BEACH TIME. Or, they went home..
.
It was a good start for Mt George Harvest on Sunday, dry most of the day...the down pour at midnight slowed things down just a touch. The drag has been both Monday and Tuesday starting off with lots of rain and more rain; some hope of a dry afternoon; before it starts up again (last night at 3:00am). We're been trying to urethane our house floor for the last month (!@#) and an old friend is coming from the UK on Thursday...any hope on a dry outlook for the next 10days? Fingers crossed, praying to weather gods. What odd weather it has been this year...the Dutch Antilles must be smiling lots of water or are they having too much?

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Hi Carol
The rain risk has been high all week. Most of the central and eastern Caribbean has had a very wet week with plumes of moisture spreading north from South America bring heavy rain showers.
Tobago has been quite lucky so far this week but there is now rain affecting Trinidad so it is not far away.
Regards

Blimey, gutted, thought it wasn't supposed to rain in March! Off on Thursday for a week, sure we will entertain ourselves, just hoping it doesn't rain Friday/Saturday in Trinidad while we're at the cricket! Any forecast advice Paul?

It's been quite good in Tobago in contrast to other parts of the Caribbean, but rain is affecting Tobago now and the risk of rain will continue until the end of the weekend.
Check out the weekly update on Liquid Sunshine this weekend.

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Hallelujah, it appears the great rain tap in the sky has turned off...maybe I should not say that out loud.
There were a few brief showers (the three or four minute kind) on Friday on several spots of the Windward Road.
Paul, I sort of blipped over your comment about rough seas this past Sat. Big surprise on Sunday when we did an Island beach tour with a friend from the UK. Did expect to do more than look at the beach at Parlatuvier (our main stop for a swim and picnic). Monday, Store Bay beach was closed for swimming; Mt Irvine in the morning according to some friends was not in great shape either. Any thoughts when the wave situation should improve...maybe Wed? Didn't go to the beach today (Tuesday). Thanks.

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Hi Carol
Yes ... the heavy Seas are easing off a little now but I am expecting the seas to peak again this weekend with waves heights of around 8 feet or higher to the east of Tobago and probably a little lower to the west (Crown Point area).
The rain could return over the next few days as low pressure is building to the south.
Regards

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Monday, C-ville, I have been busy so have not posted for awhile. The last 9 or so days up to today have been rain, overcast and big waves. For a couple of days no fishermen went out. Three boats broke their moorings with one (the reef studies boat) tipping over in the surf, tearing off the console and motor. The villagers got to the other two before any damage was done. Have not been in the water since the 7th of March because of the waves and mud. Today was nice and sunny with a nice sea. The Fishing tournament starts this Thurdays and it looks like good weather. Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Thanks for the feedback Phil
The sea is calming but the waves will increase again from now until this weekend to about 7 or 8 feet before gradually calming again next week.
Thought I should mention this so that the competitors in the forthcoming tournament take note.
The further east the tournament takes place the heavier the seas and the further west the better but areas like around the Sisters are likely to be a little rough.
The weather looks OK though.
Hope this helps ... are you taking part?

Thanks Phil
The sea will pick up on Saturday and probably peak on Sunday. It won't be as bad as the other week though.
A little wetness is likely in the next few days as low pressure develops to the south and west ... I will give more detail in the weekly update.
Bit busy tomorrow so may do the update on Sunday.
