My husband & I have just returned from our first visit to Tobago. We chose Birdie's Nest because of all the wonderful reviews we read and we now know why! We stayed in the upstairs apartment and it was perfect. It is very spacious and was spotlessly clean. Everything we needed was there, Fridge/freezer, toaster, microwave, gas cooker - even an electric can opener! - and to top it all we also had a gas BBQ. The most impressive thing about it though is the location. The beach is right outside the front gate and it is so quiet that it felt like our very own. The only sounds to be heard are the waves and the birds. We truly had our own little paradise for 2 weeks. The deck outside the kitchen door is wonderful as the sun is there from morning 'til night and the view is amazing, perfect for watching the sun rising and setting ( and every time in between!)If you are not a total sun worshipper, as we are, then it's not a problem as there is another balcony outside the front door which is in the shade. There are table and chairs there and it is perfect for having lunch and dinner at as it is cool. In fact we didn't sit inside much at all. There is air conditioning in the bedroom and large fans in the sitting room, which are more than enough as you can open the windows and get the lovely breeze from the sea too. Prince and Princess are wonderful hosts. Prince checks regularly to see everything is alright and he goes out of his way to please. He is also a mine of information regarding the Island and the many places to visit. We hired Prince's car which is also spotless and kept in very good condition. It meant we had no hassles from the minute we arrived. Prince picked us up from the airport, took us to do some essential shopping and then straight to the apartment, and he took us back to the airport when it was time to go home. He is a gem. The gardens of the house are spacious and Prince and Princess keep them very tidy, with the help ( while we were there ) of the delightful Alexander, Prince's young cousin.
I can't say enough about this place. Suffice to say, when we return to Tobago, which I sincerely hope we will, we will not be looking for any other accommodation other than Birdie's Nest.
