Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Been a bit of wetness around the past few days ... any feedback?
The pressure is decreasing and the Dutch Antilles seem to have had the worst so far. It's all coming from the south.
Regards

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Paul,
here in Trini is still partly cloudy and dry. Will see what's coming. I hear Tobago and the north coast of Trini will get big swells over the weekend. Something like Easter 2008.
Do you get Eric's 4-day-outlooks incl. bulletins from T&T Met Office ? If not, and if you are intested, let me know.
Greetings from Trini,
Andy

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Hi Andy
I have never heard of Eric so his views would be of interest.
Yes ... the weather is gearing up more towards rain. I am not sure yet about the seas because the current southerly flow of weather tends to bring calmer airflows.
I will have a look at the sea situation over the next couple of days as the weather is very changeable right now.
Regards

Paul,
Eric Mackie is the weatherman on CNC3, a local TV station. He also has a mailing list of friends,
who he sends the 4-days-outlooks of the T&T Met Office, together with his own interpretations.
Sometimes quite interesting. If you want to give me your e-mail address, i will have Eric put
you on his mailing list.
Weatherwise today in western Trinidad is still partly cloudy and dry. I think the breeze picked up.
Cheers,
Andy

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Thanks for the feedback Lisa and Andy.
It looks like the minimum seas will be about 4 or 5 feet to the west of Tobago and as high as 8 or 9 feet to the east, peaking on Sunday.
It will calm a little early next week but not by much ... so expect the seas to be pretty jumpy for the next week at least.
As for the rain ... we have lower level winds from the north and the upper level weather coming from the south ... don't ask!
It basically means that rainfall risk is high and the seas will have an impact on the Caribbean side of Tobago.
All good fun.
Regards

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Here in Chaguaramas / Trinidad we had a good downpour by lunchtime for 10 Mins, since then it is overcast with on and off some heavier drizzle. I have no idea how the sea is, but i will find out on sunday, when i hopefully come out from the Boca for fishing.

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Beautiful sunshine on Sunday and Monday in Trinidad!
I went out through the first Boca on Monday, found the sea uncomfortably rough for fishing(6 to 8 ft) on the north coast and went back to Chacachacare and the Grand Boca.
Otherwise a beautiful day at sea, and we got rewarded too be a 40plus-lbs Wahoo.

Thanks Andy
The seas should stay at this level for most of this week but it should get much calmer at the weekend.
There are a few showers dotted about ... but these are mostly trade showers.

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Just came across from Trini to T'go on the "EXPRESS".
Nice cruise, sea moderate about 6ft, clear skies and lots of sunshine of course.
Temperature 30 C, moderate breeze, about 12 to 15 kts.
No excuses for not working in the yard and picking fruits

It's lovely isn't it Andy.
The sea is going to get a bit bigger late weekend next week.
But the weather seems cool.

Hot and dry until yesterday. Here in Bethel it rained all night and is just beginning to taper off. The plants are dancing with joy!!!
The surf at Grange yesterday meant we had to walk over to Mt. Irvine beach where it was calm.

Hi Hugh!
Welcome back, Neighbour!!
And it's rained all day today. Pauls' weather forecasting, though more accurate than most, is actually not quite as accurate as me having family over from England. You can guarantee on the day they arrive, it'll rain!! Likewise, my tumble-drier is being temperamental again. Another sure sign!
Lisa.

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
I was cautiously optimistic
It's these plumes of moisture from the south that keep spoiling it and it is very unpredictable.
It's going to hang around for another day or 2 ... but it is very dry elsewhere in the Caribbean to the north of St Lucia ...
... the showers are quite well scattered so very hit and miss.
Regards

Hi Lisa,
I have been enjoying today's perfect weather. When are we going to hook up? I have intermittent internet access as I'm here only two weeks.
Hugh
(There was a report in there

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
We have been experiencing very nice dry weather during the weekend and today. Something resembling
a dry season
We could do with some more until at least the end of the month, to get rid of some of the bugs.
No significant bushfires so far, which means, it is still too wet. Keep your fingers crossed.

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
We have had beautiful weather during the last week, including good water visibility for fishing.
The Kingfish season has started and that normally marks the end of the dry season, too. Flying fish moves out from
the southern Caribbean, and with them Wahoo and Mahi-Mahi. Kingfish starts to bite at the Northcoast of Trinidad.
I am hoping for some more weeks of dry-"ish" weather with good water "vis".
Tobago should be pretty much the same, i will report from there during the coming weekend.
Greetings from Trinidad,
Andy

It's Hurricane Season again and I have kicked off the new 2009 Hurricane Season thread.
I will update this throughout the season ... hopefully not too much activity this year.

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
The weather in Tobago these days really behaves to an extend.
Partly cloudy and sunny most of the time, only this morning we had a very brief shower in Scarborough.
Seas are calm by 4 - 6ft, windspeed (estimated) 6 to 12 kts.
Brilliant waether for all kinds of watersports, except for surfing
To those who are here in T'go, congratulations on your decision to be here during the off-season. You are rewarded
by brilliant weather conditions.
Everybody else ... i can't help

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
After the mixed weather with isolated showers we had during the weekend, there was a significant
improvement until today. We are enjoying sunshine, only a few clouds and a stiff breeze from the east
in N/W Trinidad right now. Hope this will sustain for a bit and give us the opportunity for
some outdoor activity tomorrow, like fishing on the northcoast
