C-ville Sat., March 21, Today is the lay day of the tournament. 36 international boats and 22 local boats registered for this years Tobago International Game Fishing Tournament which started with registration on Wed. and fishing Thursday and Friday. Friday a 423 lb Blue Marlin was brought to the scales (see pictures on www.tgft.com). Thursday and Friday saw a bunch of 20 plus lb. Yellow Fin Tuna and 30 lb Mahi Mahi brought in. The biggest Mahi Mahi was a little over 60 lbs brought in by a local fisherman. In the International side the biggest Mahi Mahi is 51 lbs. The biggest Wahoo is around 36 lbs. The Tournament continues on Sunday. The Tournament should have a live telecast of Sunday afternoons events on their website www.tgft.com. Phil

Hi Steve n Phil,
I drove up there on the 21st not knowing a thing about the lay day. Can't imagine how stupid I felt.
At least I got the shirt.........Wish I could've gone back on Sunday to see some prize catch.

Hi there,
I was there for the tournament and the winner of the local boats was Owen 'Anaconda' Cox! My congratulations! Castara visiters should know him.
Cheers

Region 3 - Upper Caribbean
Most of the Castara posse will take you out to The Sisters but make sure you have your sea legs - it gets pretty hairy out there, but the tuna fishing can be awesome.
Eldon Rusty Lewis: A very knowledgeable and amiable freelance fisherman.
Michael: Works for Woodies and King David. Very friendly, good fun and knowledgeable.
Owen Anaconda Cox: A freelance fisherman who also works for Alibaba and Woody’s, out of Castara and Plymouth. He is one of the few who have a good grasp of fishing with rod and line.
This acolade is hotly contested and the competition is intense, so I'd like to add my congratulations as well.
