Post by Johan Seekles »

Hi,

In the five weeks that i am staying in tobago, i would like to go for a few days to the south america part to see the amazone and have a little taste of south america.

Does any of you have an advice how to arange this from tobago, and do you need a visum for this if you are a europeon citizen?

Thanks in advance

Hi Johan

I suspect that you will find this very difficult to arrange from Tobago. However, it would be possible to arrange from Port of Spain, where there are proper travel agencies (unlike Tobago). I'm afraid that visa information for other countries is beyond the scope of this site.

Hi Johan

If I remember right, there´s an Travel Agency for trips to Venezuela at Crown Point Airport in Tobago, if it´s not closed now of cource. Otherwise you will have to go to Trinidad/Port of Spain to find something, and that might take time. And when on vacation, time is limited.

South America is a large continent, if you already haven´t choosed a destination, I would first check travelling options by air from Port of Spain via their Embassy in Europe, no reason to choose a specific country if you can´t travel from PoS by air! Venezuela does have connections to T&T / Port of Spain, but not all countries in South America.

You will also have to check all possible travelling options, vaccinations, Visas and so forth for choosen country before you go to Tobago. For a short stay many countries doesn´t demand a Visa but some does, and sometimes there´s also demands on specific vaccinations, all depending where you go.
Otherwise you will spend far too much of your vacation in T&T trying to get needed information for visas, tickets, vaccinations, accomondations and so forth. If you are leaving Europe in five weeks, than you better hurry up and check everything.

Hi Ronald,

Thanks for your respons.

I am leaving the second of august and i will stay in tobago for five weeks, it is not for sure i will go to south off america if there was an easy flight and not too much to arange i would do it as trionidad is only 11 km from tobago.

But most likely the nature of tobago and trinidad is enough for me to spend the five weeks and i will go to south america another time.

anyway thanks for your time

greetings johan

Hi Johan - Caribbean Airlines - http://www.caribbean-airlines.com - flies to Caracas, Paramaribo Suriname and Georgetown Guyana from Port-of-Spain. You would have to jump on the airbridge, which is also operated by Caribbean Airlines from Tobago to Port-of-Spain to catch your flight to anyone of those destinations mentioned above.

Copa Airlines - http://www.copaair.com/homepage.aspx?lang=en - from Panama also operates a Twice weekly flight(?) to Port-of-Spain which would also offer you connecting service from Panama to South America.
Here is the link to their schedule as well: http://www.copaair.com/FlightSchedule/S ... px?lang=en
