Long term accomodation / Visa

Post by Christine Nelson »

Hi,

Can anyone recommend longterm accomodation from around March 2004 for approx 3 Months ?.
I may have a place in Plymouth lined up but not sure until I holiday at Rex in Feb.
Is 3 months the longest I can stay without Visa ?.

Thanks Chris. 8)

Hello again, Christine

You should be able to negotiate a very good deal with any accommodation establishment for a stay of 3 months or more. I don't know of any establishments that specifically specialise in long-term accommodation as this is not something that comes into the remit of our site.

May I refer you to our Information section where you will find information on visas, etc.

Hello again Christine

Gosh you are determined to stay long term!

My mother took a lease on a cute one bed apartment in my road, with private balcony, cable TV, hot water, for tt$1500 per month.

She had to return to Uk for health reasons and may be giving it up around March 10th when the lease expires - but you could take it earlier if her doctor tells her to stay in UK next month, when she goes for a checkup. She will decide in Feb what she is doing, landlady is pleasant and easy going.

Most folks are able to apply at immigration in Scarborough to extend their 3 month tourist visas for a further period, subject to :

1. A valid return ticket, or
2. Payment of a TT$1000 bond in lieu of a ticket, and
3. Evidence of sufficient funds to meet maintenance and accommodation needs without recourse to employment

More than 6 months/one year starts to get tricky as immigration then start to suspect more than a lengthy holiday.

Happy new year

Hi,
Thanks Glyn and Steve for your replies.

Glyn asI mentioned before I am bringing my family to Rex in Feb for Carnival time and if posible would love to arrange to meet up with you and your wife for a chat and maybe Steve if possible.

Also anyone else who would like to meet between 21/2 - 03/03/04

I will then travel back with family and return to Tobago for mid March at the latest for my long vacation?
Counting the days.

Regards Chris
