I'm going to make this short, since so very many people before me have written eloquently about Birdie's Nest, and Prince. Yup, it's all true. All completely on the mark. I've lived and traveled all over the globe, and I "specialize" in beachfront property, in fact I own a house on the beach in Hatteras, NC. Birdie's Nest absolutely ranks as one of the best places I've ever stayed.
In the vacation home world, the trend in the last 10 years has been to supersize everything, and I feel this is a huge mistake. Jacuzzis in every bathroom, gourmet kitchens, other fancy stuff that for me, just makes me unable to relax and just BE at a house.
Don't be mistaken, Birdie's Nest takes care of all the essentials and more - large bedrooms, well stocked kitchens, comfortable beds, AC, etc, etc without succumbing to the notion that a great house needs tons of luxury bs.
The true charm of Birdie's Nest is it's location - down a backstreet, through a neighborhood, and directly on the beach - and it's owners, Prince and Princess. When you combine these two essential factors, you have the makings of a very memorable visit.
All eight of us who stayed at Birdie's Nest over New Years would like to thank Prince and Princess for such a great time. You're welcome in our house anytime.
