Sleeping in Piarco airport

Post by Sharon Keeler »

We are planning our flight into POS and American arrives at 10:30 pm. By the time we get through customs it will be 11:30 pm. Thinking of sleeping in the airport to save some money and taking the first flight out to Tobago. Anyone ever done this or know if it is even allowed? Thanks. --Sharon

It is a fine T & T tradition to overnight at Piarco. Not very comfortable but you will not be alone.

It is for the young at heart so go with an open mind and keep an eye (and a hand) on your bags at all times.

Hi Sharon,
Just last year a girlfriend and I had no choice but to sleep in the Airport.
We came during the G8 and security was longer than anticipated.
To tell you the truth, we had a decent time, slept on our bags, and didn't feel the least bit unsafe.
We camped out by the ticket counters at the far end.
Have fun.
