My wife and I returned Dec. 12 from 2 weeks in Tobago. By good fortune, a previous guest left a Yes Tourism brochure in our cabana at Ocean Point Barch Hotel (hotels in Tobago don't carry rack of brochures like elsewhere in the world, and Yes Tourism doesn't have agents prowling the streets and beaches. After walking to their office between Ocean Point and Pigeon Point and meeting incredibly pleasant staff, we booked 2 tours The owners and staff are all originally from Germany, thus know the meaning of true service with a very friendly, personal touch. On our tours, one with Patrick (General Manager) and one with Katharine (Tour Manager) we felt we had made new friends. Our best endorsement is that when we again visit Tobago we'll contact them via their wesite to set up accommodation, tours and other arrangements. Also, they drive their Mercedes passenger van in a responsible, safe manner. They're available at http://www.yes-tourism.com We also took a boat trip from Frankie's Tours, purchased from a beach agent. . . . including snorkeling in a couple of locations up the north-west coast, then back to Buccoo Reef and Nylon pool . . .topped off with a great beach BBQ. They take only about 10 people per trip, so it's nice to have a small group. Very enjoyable, but the van driver was drove very fast and unsafely by N. Am. & European standards . . . and the boat driver should have eased off the throttle in some of the rough water. Avoid booking a tour from locals on Monday morning. On our trip Frankie himself had to turn out to rescue the tour because his boat captain simply did not show up . . . in fact he hadn't been seen by anyone since Sunday School at Buccoo Bay the night before! Overall, a great time!
