Hi All,
Maybe someone has some thoughts on this. My husband decided to use some Caribbean Air points for his flight from Toronto on May 27 (the usual redeye) I won't go into the logistics of making that happen; that's a whole different story!@#. The problem; they would only book him to POS . Odd, as we do get some air miles for the Tobago portion of our trip each time we are down. So he booked his flight and then discovered he could not book a flight to Tobago. According to their website and phone line (for the last four weeks) there are no flights May 28-29. I do know it's Indian Arrival Day that weekend. Is there something else going on too or just, excuse me....stupid Caribbean Airline. He plans to do stand by when he arrives at 5:30 am. or get transport to the ferry. Thanks, if anyone knows anything. Sorry left this to the last minute
Cheers!

Re: No Flights??
Carol,
I'll think you'll find that all the flights are booked solid - the fast ferries are also fully booked for that weekend (and have been for a few weeks now)... there's been a marked increase in Trinidadians travelling to Tobago at the weekends PLUS as well as that weekend being Indian Arrival, the Corpus Christie holiday is also on Thurs 3rd, so many people seem to be making a week's holiday of it.
If your husband gets in at 5.30am then he will at least get on the standby list very early so will have a good chance of getting to Tobago some time that day. If he goes for the ferry option he will most likely be on standby there too.

Hi Rachel,
Many thanks for the info. Fingers crossed he will be able to get over some time on Friday on standby. Had no idea the travel volume had increased so much between the two Islands. Have never had this problem before. Sort of missed (forgot) about the Corpus Christie holiday. Again thank you.

Re: No Flights??
Folks,
in addition to the two public holidays there will be a reduction in ferry capacity beginning June 2nd.
Quote (NEWSDAY Section B, 28.7.10, page 12):
" The Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago wishes to advise all persons who utilize the ferry service that the
T&T Spirit will be taken out of service from 2010 June 02 to July 28 to undergo its planned maintenance programme. ..."
Which means, for the next two months there will be only one passenger ferry in operation.
That sucks ...

Re: No Flights??
Hi Andy,
Thanks for information, that sure does complicate any trips to Trinidad. Will pass info along to my husband.
BTW, he had no problem getting over on Friday...standby on the second flight of the day.
Thanks Rachel and Andy!
