Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Really heavy rain yesterday and to a lesser extent today too. As usual it came in a torrent and then within 30 mins it was over and brightened up a bit.
It really did lash down yesterday and flooded our garden (Bon Accord) and the storm drains were groaning under the strain. Also heard the road to Castara was cut off for a while. Brighter skies on the horizon I hope!

Hi Helena
I knew this week would be a little wet ... it is clearing a bit, but there is another trough that could increase the rainfall again tomorrow and Saturday.
Regards

Dear Tallet,
Your warning last Friday for snow this week in the Gatwick area was spot on; airport closed, cars stuck on M25, binmen not coming, paperboy running late. It's tough down here too!
Now please put some effort into correcting matters or I shall have to speak to Mr Wooler about you, again.
All the best,
Neil Roberts.

Yes Roberts ... and you are going to get more snow tonight and tomorrow.
I would be surprised if Gatwick re-opens before Friday. In fact, I expect all public transport and raod networks to come to a stand-still in Surrey and anywhere south and east of London.
Heathrow is also having problems but less likely to be affected by as much snow ... maybe some flights will be diverted there ... travellers need to check their options.
There is over a foot of snow in my Garden here in Yorkshire and it is set to keep piling up tonight and tomorrow.
Then we have problems this weekend (Sunday through to Monday) as warmer air tries to move in but that will bring more snow before it rains but the cold air mass will return again in time for next week's scheduled flights.
It's a mighty fine old mess !!
Sorry, but when Mother Nature chucks her dummy out of the pram you just have to deal with it
Commiserations to those that can't get away ... congratulations to those that have had their holidays extended ... more rain in Tobago!
Regards

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Right now it´s partly cloudy in Tobago, all dependning on where you are of course. It´s about 30C degrees, yesterday the US-weatherman did show on TV that bad weather is on the way from the Atlantic, so we will see during the weekend if we will get hit. The sea is rather ruff here in the south, always red flag in Stor Bay. But we doesn´t have any snow!
My sister in Sweden, living south of Stockholm, told me that there were a lot of snow and the temp were -20C yesterday morning!

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Dear Paul,
I really hope that with all that snow on the ground you get a gradual thaw, otherwise flooding could well become an issue for some: fingers crossed on that. We lived near Malton for a few years and snow melt was a problem there on two occasions if I remember rightly, as it is here with the River Mole.
Best wishes to you, and thanks for the personalised forecast, even if it's not good news for those waiting to get to Tobago and Grenada.
Keep up the good work,
Neil.

Hmmm ... sorry ...but not good tonight in the Gatwick area ... even worse than I thought.
Not possible to expect flights tomorrow ... even Heathrow is hit.

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Dear Paul,
Well you weren't wrong!
The cat and I have just surfaced at our normal time to find 3 or 4 inches of fresh snow outside the door, It's not going to be easy getting around in this area today and the concensus seems to be that there's more to come; in fact it's started snowing gently again now. I don't know how Gatwick has fared, but it's not that far away.

More disruption ahead ... it's not that bad yet for the airports but a snow event is expected for the weekend ... so next week's flights face disruption.

Dear Paul,
Looking at the forecasts, I think Mother Nature is going to need all the "public relations" help she can get for the next little while! Keep up the good work; and if you could make it a bit warmer I'd appreciate that.
All the best to you and your readers,
Neil Roberts.

Travel Update
Complications and frustration seem set to continue for the UK.
A complex low looks like developing over Belgium/Holland/Germany bringing the dastardly easterlies again.
The show starts on Wednesday and the real business happens on Thursday and Friday where we could have lock-downs on the airports and possible widespread disruption on the roads and rail.
For those going ... you may have a delay ... for those coming ... you may have an extension.
Make your plans for the weather and extremely low temperatures.
Regards

Dear Andy,
I believe the song is thought to have been written "poolside" in Arizona.
If the white stuff genuinely appeals to you, can we swop places for a couple of months please?
It's still good to read your posts however,
All the best,
Neil Roberts.

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
The snow risk is reducing but the freezing conditions continue.
There is alot of disagreement between the models about when this cold period will end ... it seems to me that it could warm up a little around 26th/27th December but that it will become colder again ... no let up in the UK to be honest.
Regards

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
The northern part of Trinidad experienced some heavy showers yesterday. Fun at Maracas beach was
disrupted by rain every half an hour, it was better to seek shelter at a "Bake & Shark" booth and have
something to eat one time.
Today in Chaguaramas (NW Trinidad) one brief shower so far. Hoping for the weather to settle.

Re: LIQUID SUNSHINE - Feedback
Sat. in C-vill. Nice day today the sea is quite calm in the bay. Last night we had the hardest rain since Christmas. We have had a lot more rain this year. It has mostly been at night with some short showers during the day. As I recall we have had only 3 or 4 days without any rain since X-mas. Around New Years the sea was quite rough and the bay was pretty dirty. It is getting better now that it is getting calmer. Fishing is off and on. Some days the local fishermen are bringing in some nice catches wahoo and tuna and other days not much at all. Phil

Trinidad experiences overcast and rainy weather since Monday. In fact Tuesday afternoon was quite chilly, i would
call it quite unusual for this time of the year.
Monday night into Tuesday morning were several hours of significant rainfall, not isolated showers.
Referring to RosyV's complaint about the this kind of weather during her vacation, i can say, you were absolutely
spoilt last year with perfect weather for tourists.
Unfortunately, we all who live here had to suffer subsequently from water restrictions, weeks of constant bush fires, cars and boats covered with ashes, burnt smell everywhere and significant environmental impact to name the least.
Let it rain a little bit no and again

Good points Andy ... I remember.
I said in my Hurricane 2010 string that I did not feel that enough hurricanes had churned the Caribbean Sea and that this had not cooled the seas enough for a good dry season.
The current weather looks set to last another few days.
Regards

1st March - Crown Point/Pigeon Point
Started sunny, then became more overcast but still bright although I could see a squall over the reef.
A few light sprinkles of rain about 12.30 but bright sunshine by 16.00
