Where is David?

Post by Phil Bondie »

Have not seen anything from David in awhile. Hope he is in good health. Isn't this the time of year he usually gets to Tobago? Phil

Hi Phil

A question I regularly ask myself. I wrote to him early this year asking if he was alright, but never received any reply. I know he wasn't well last year and suspect that it may possibly be connected with that. Hopefully he is well, that the most important part. David, if you see this, please let us know that you are okay.

I am delighted to share the news with readers that David Watkins – our most prolific contributor over the last seven years – has been in touch. He gave me permission to share his news with our merry band, so it is probably best that I quote the relevant information from his email:
Well I have had a pretty rough year. The day after I arrived home I had another minor stroke, then in May I had a serious one that affected my sight and the right side of my body.

As they could not deduce the cause of the strokes they carried out a whole body scan and found that I had an unwelcome visitor in my abdomen. Although not malignant it was causing clots that circulated through my body and sometimes to the brain .....hence the strokes. The nasty has been removed now and I am at last back home, on Tuesday in fact. I still have to have some physio mainly on my right arm but speech and sight are now ok.

So that is the latest on me. I hope to get to Tobago as soon as get a clean bill of health. Insurance may be difficult though.
David, our thoughts and blessings are with you. May 2011 bring you a speedy recovery and return to full health. We shall be raising a Christmas toast to you.

It's really good to know that the Kernow Army is back to full strength and long may it stay so.

All the best David.
