Tobago interactive map

Post by Carol G »

Hi Steve,
Not sure where to put this topic. First off, the map is fantastic and I use it frequently to see what new places are popping up all over the island. Thanks for all the work getting it organized and keeping it that way!!
Yesterday I was reading the feed on the fruits and veggies and you mentioned you had set up a few new places on the map. I was just checking various spots and noticed Golden Girl Bakery is not at the right location. It looks like it is near the Viewport...it's down by Canaan Fruit Basket. I think the bakery still has the best cheese buns around. Will check out Rosie's (sp) soon. Have driven pass many times; but not stopped.
Cheers, Carol

Hi Carol

Yes - I admit that I thought that. To be honest with you, most of those general locations (as opposed to hotels/guest houses/villas where the owners can confirm the location for us) were done from memory and it can be hugely dificult to see enough detail. One of my intended projects for this visit is to get an open-top Jeep for the day and get Jill to drive me around photographing every building/shop/restaurant of interest to visitors. Like a mini and manual version of the Google Street View cars. But, I'm grateful for anybody who can point out any inaccuracies and/or point out any shops/features that could be usefully added to the map. In the meantime, I've taken a stab in the dark and moved the Golden Girl Bakery down nearer Canaan Fruit Basket rather than risk any confusion.

Hi Carol & Steve

I´m afraid that Carol is very right, on the map the marker is on the house next to the closed Kaiso Club!
The right place for the Golden Grove Bakery is nearby the junction with Golden Grove Road. Not the house exactly at the junction, its the house you see just before the last one when driving to Scarborough.

- ST Cyr Street, and than Canaan Food Basket as the second house
- Buck Buck Alley, that´s the next street
- than you have about four houses before the junction with Golden Grove Road, and the Golden Grove Bakery is one house before the junction

Steve, I believe you might me stressed? Too much to do and you might also miss the "nice" european weather?

Ooops! I'd made the changes but forgot to generate the Google XML file that gives the new markers. All done. We're close enough now and I'll keep it there until I get the chance to get down there and do the proper geo-tagging.
