We were brought to Birdie's Nest by our taxi driver, Mr James, arriving on a dark steamy night in early March.
Prince was there to greet us and show us around his lovely home-turned-holiday apartments which were clean, spacious and very well furnished. What we could hear but not see was the ocean but all was put right the next morning - opening the door and walking onto the sun terrace you could almost touch the water. Birdies Nest has a stunning location right on Turtle beach in Black Rock, a 'real' Tobagan village. Prince and his mother keep the apartments spotless and are ready to provide car hire and advice ranging from which trips and excursions would suit your style (the Frankie Tours coastal cruise was spot on) to where to buy the best fresh lobster. Guest enjoyment is top of the agenda and Prince is justifiably proud of the new swimming pool that he checks and cleans almost every day - No silly hotel rules here, if you want to enjoy a nightime dip whilst listening to the crash of the waves on the beach just go ahead! All in all the perfect place to experience real Tobago at an excellent price.
