Trip report - general comments

We just returned from a 9 day trip to Tobago.
We have posted our comments about actvities, villa rental, auto rental and dining in the approraite forum.

Below are some final thoughst about our visit.

We flew into Tobago on Caribbean Air. They had many frequent flights to choose from. All seemed to be fairly on time.
We also flew into Trinidad on Caribbean Air. I am so glad we chose them for a leg of our flight. They were like the airlines of years ago – no cost to check baggage and they provided a hot meal, beverage and movie at no additional cost! Their check in process was quick and easy and their counter staff and flight attendants were friendly. We were able to sit in exit rows on each leg of our flight. Certainly the only way to fly in coach class these days – nice job!

The cost of gasoline on the island is the cheapest I have ever seen in the Caribbean – I guess that is because of all of the oil reserves ion the island. Gas was an unbelievable price of $1.59US per gallon ($2.70TT per liter). Diesel was even cheaper - $.88US per gallon – yes – 88 cents! ($1.50TT per liter).

We purchased meat at Golden Grove farm and had some great steak, pre-made hamburgers and lamb chops for cooking a few meals at our villa – highly recommended.

There are many other posts about safety on the island. So, I will not mention anything about that topic here other than to state first hand that as far as safety goes, we never felt unsafe on the island. Reading the articles about the attacks and robberies before coming to the island raised our awareness and I guess we were extra cautious.

We had a great time on Tobago.
