Jemas Guesthouse is a little gem in Black Rock, where we spent two absolutely relaxing weeks. Spacious, nicely furnished apartments in a lush jungle garden, and a comfy bed made us sleep like babies. We got even used to the rooster hooting in the wee hours.

The land lords Jema and her husband Matthias couldn't be more forthcoming with help, information and suggestions, and sometimes a lift to the next village. Unfortunately, there are no more restaurants open in Black Rock, also the one bar opens only when the owner feels like. Which seems rarely the case...
Thanks to the supermarket in the village and the well equipped kitchen at Jemas we didn't starve over the holidays.

Turtle beach is very close to Jemas Guesthouse. But with high waves rolling in, only experienced swimmers should swim there. Nevertheless, a short walk farther away is the more shallow and beautiful Stonehaven beach, where you can get a cold beer at the Buccaneer Bar in the afternoon. Next to it are the German managed Extra Divers offering perfect dive trips to the under water wonders of Tobago.
