Car Hire Query?

Hi to one and all.I've got a query, regarding part of the on line application form from 'Yes Tourism' for the pre-booking of a jeep which my partner and I intend to do,when we arrive in Tobago on the 25th of Jan. I've noticed on the Tobago car rental service page, with regards to'Yes Tourism' compleating the hire agreement on my behalf, and then for...........'a rapid no fuss handover you simply need to sign the agreement, provide credit card details and drive away'. Does this mean in order for me to rent a car, will I have to pay for it wholly by using a credit card? Or is it possible to pay for the rental with US$ dollar travellers cheques or US$ dollar currency, considering the prices quoted are in US$ dollars. I'd really appreciate If anybody out there could help me with this matter? Finally I'd just like to echo the sentiments expressed by most people that visit this site, that this website is by far the best one going about Tobago, with an attention to detail thats second to none. You've done a grand job Steve (Forum Editor) and I guess you'll be kinda looking forward to your forthcoming trip to 'The Isle'..................especially after your recent altercation with a certain stop-cock!?!?

Anyway................ENJOY! Happy travels everyone.

Hi Kevin

Thanks for your kind words.

It would be best to address these sort of questions to Yes Tourism ([email protected]). However, I would have thought that you will be able to pay for your car hire by any normal method, including gold bullion, sovereigns or moon dust. They probably just word it that way because most people hiring a car probably pay by credit card. The point is that Yes Tourism don't ask for any deposit or make any charge up front when you use their online system to reserve a car or jeep - you simply arrange payment on delivery. Says a lot about the firm as far as I'm concerned.

Dear Kevin,

I would like to clarify the issue about renting a car through the Yes Tourism brokerage: I have to agree to your querie, but actually most visitors prefer to use their credit card to rent a vehicle. I think most of it has actually to do with a credit card covering the insurance for the rental in case of accident etc. But you always have to check with your credit card company if the card really covers it, because not all of them do!! Of course you can also pay in local currency (TTD), USD cash and USD trav. checks. You can also contact us directly via mail at [email protected] Best regards
