Any recent experiences?
Just curious having read a few disaster tales elsewhere on the net about Virgin!

Hi Marc
I flew back to blighty last Monday and am returning tomorrow, Virgin Economy. It was fine, crew v friendly and attentive (we with a baby), catering so so and drinks not as free flowing as BA (scant bar service but you can pop to the galley to ask).
Leg room OK, but standard economy pitch - equal to BA, but noone matches BWIA 34" in economy (or price mind you).
Best of all is that there is no stop en route - worth any discomfort just for that, although the basic service is adequate.

Virgin's flight is the fastest.
Despite Gatwick delays of over an hour, they still got to Tobago early.
Yes ... some of the equipment has failed to work on my flights and Glyn is correct about the booze issue.
But if you want to get there quick, go Virgin ... anyway, their planes look good don't they ?

O'h dear!! Guess which airline we're flying with on Monday for the first time? I WAS quite looking forward to going with them till i caught up with this topic, always been with B.A. before on caribbean trips. The reason we opted for Virgin was the 'straight there bit' as we have quite a long drive at the Tobago end.Never mind, i may well be pleasantly surprised [ i hope]. ---So,Marc i'll let you know our views on Virgin as well as B.W.I menus. My flight was part of the holiday (ie I booked with Virgin) but I have heard as many great stories as bad.
I look forward to despatches before I travel.
Last night a football team I helped form won the league they are in (we are unbeaten at the moment!) and in 2 weeks it's a League Cup Final for us as well. This is turning into a fantastic year, and as soon as the football season ends I'm off to Tobago.
To be fair, it'll take more than a less than perfect flight to upset my good vibes

Virgin Flights
Beauty is,as mentioned above the direct, hassle free, quick flight.
Had no problems with any part of flight or in flight service. No problem on the drink front. Was granted as much as I allowed myself without trying to look like a desperate alcoholic.
Food as always on flights adequate, and certainly better than many.
Stress free flying
enjoy

Hi Glyn
Glad to see you are back in Tobago or I asume you are looking forward to my beer after a drink free flight with Virgin on 3.05.04. Fancy that coming from a man married to ex BA hostess no you are trying for free flight are you ??.
Fear not Virgin is the best this year will be my 15th flight with Virgin yes I am a frequent Virgin who else would serve Ice Cream half way through one of the many films on offer. And drinks are as many as you would like mind you the serve glasses now not bottles.

Hi John
Before I married a BA stewardess (still serving) I was engaged to a Virgin Stewardess, so have sampled the delights from both trollies - obviously BA won, but I do have fond memories of Virgin experiences (better staff flights for one thing - 7 free each year, whereas BA staff get one free after 7 years!).
As much as I would like to serve you that beer on the 90F tarmac when you stop over en route to Grenada, I really do not think they will let me - with my arab-esque looks and no airport pass - anywhere near the plane. Particularly when I show them your downloaded portrait - they will assume it is an elabourate ruse.
Think of me when lying in your posh hotel though,
Cheers
