Hi Graham

I'm not aware of the problems that occurred in November that you refer to - but thought my experience of Le Grand Courlan in August 2002 might be of use. My girlfriend and I wvisited there for 2 weeks and had an absolutely wonderful time. The rooms were spacious and spotless and the staff were extremely welcoming and always prepared to stop and chat or help you out. The food was also good, and in the carribean bistro downstairs a local woman made up some exceptional fare, and I had the most exquisite crab salad ever, far nicer than any you might find in a swanky London restaurant. The dive school is also handy, with very experienced staff who are patient (and boy did they need to be with my feeble efforts!) and this made the holiday all the more enjoyable. If you go AI, then this represents good value, as all international brands are available, Jack Daniels, Bacardi etc Now the spa. Everyday you recieve a treatment from a qualified beautician, ranging from massage through to full body salt scrub. This is a wonderful addition to the holiday, and enables those of us who live stressed out lifestyles in big cities to really wind down. I have to confess it was my partner who convinced me to stay at Courlan, she is a spa addict, and I initially wanted to stay at the Blue Haven, but having stayed there I honestly wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. It was great. I could carry on for hours, but I hope you find this small insight useful.

All the best
Dominic
