Calypso 2004 CD

I'm now back in the UK and reminising about our wonderful holiday in Tobago. We went to Frankies Rum Punch Beach Party and the music was great. I have tried to search for the CD Calypso 2004 on the net with no luck. We have been told that the tracks that we particularly like are on that CD, but I don't know the name of the songs. We didn't get chance to go to Scarborough to buy the CD before leaving Tobago.

Does anyone have any idea how I can get a copy or download the tracks on there? I know it would help if I knew the name of the tracks or if I knew who the singers are. But I don't

So, if anyone has a copy of this CD in Tobago, could they please let me have a list of the song titles and singers, so that I can search some more.

Or is anyone willing to purchase a copy and send it to me in the UK :?: I'll pay of course. :)

I can't help you with the CD I'm afraid but, Frankies Rum Punch Beach Party sounds good. 8)
Could you tell me more about it? Is it a public thing?
We're visiting Tobago in late August and that sounds like fun. 8) :D

Julia - I don't know what age you are, but if you are between 15 & 85 then you will love the Rum Punch Beach Party. It's one of Frankie's tours to Buccoo Reef on a glass bottom boat for snorkelling, then on to the Nylon Pool for a relaxing swim. Then on to the PARTY - on No Man's Land. Excellent Barbecue food and as much Rum Punch or Beer as you can drink. Take part in the Limbo competion or just dance the afternoon away. It was one of the highlights of our holiday. The music just booms out in the middle this paradise area - you can't help but join in the fun.

Yes I'm between 15 and 85! :D
We'll have to find some other rum punch beach stylee thing though, and I'm sure we will. From information I've read here the Buccoo Reef tour is not for us.

Julia,

I'm surprised you wouldn't want to see Buccoo reef - it is beautiful. It's also the best way to see it without damaging the coral reef. The colours of the fish are wonderful and you can see it all very clearly. If you don't want to snorkel, you don't have to. You can just sumbathe on the boat instead. The snorkelling is in an area that is quite deep so that you do not touch or damage the coral, but the water is so clear, it is easily seen. We saw a huge stingray whilst snorkelling. As I said, the whole trip was one of the highlights of our holiday.

Marc - about 14 on our boat, but when we got to No Man's Land for the beach barbecue, another boat of about 8 people joined us.

How long is the trip (half or full-day)?

How do you book it; Can it be booked via the Hotel or Rep?

Joanne,

The trip was book directly with Frankies tours - just look for the blokes with the Frankies T-shirts on - they are everywhere. Or get the hotel to book it for you.

They collected us from the hotel about 10am and we set sail about 11am. They dropped us back at the hotel at about 5.30pm.

We also booked a jeep from them for 3 days.

Hey thanks about the CD :D - I would appreciate it if you can get it. I think you have to buy it from Scarborough though.

Which Calypso 2004? We bought Volume 1 in a music store in Scarborough. There are 6 or 7 volumes of it.

(When I say we bought it, we actually had to wait 10 minutes while the shop owner burned a copy on her PC. As far as I can make out this is standard practice - all CDs sold in Tobago appear to be illicit copies. This also seemed to be the case for DVDs).

The CDs were also available on just about every street vendor's stall.

It's called Calypso Gold 2004 and will be released on May 17.

I'm so excited :lol: - my son has just found one of the songs - it's called 'Come Beta (Beta Beti)' by Destra & Shurwayne Winchester. Anyone know any more similar?

We just returned yesterday morning from Tobago and while en route at Trinidad airport I picked up a Soca compilation CD (on the recommendation of the shop assistant) which has almost all of our favourite "Tobago" tunes on it.
