watching EURO 2004
Does anybody know a real good place to watch the matches of the EURO 2004 in Portugal? Well, I know there won't be a big screen with thousands of creaming and singing colorful fans, but maybe somebody knows a place with some atmosphere in Tobago to watch some of these phantastic matches. And for June 2006 I won't be in Tobago...

Hi Jorg,
The place you are looking for is "The Bar Code Sports Bar"situated in Scarbourough just along the road from the Marina and cruise harbour.I was there for the Rugby World Cup final and they showed it there on big screen, so I would imagne they would have the Football on.
Regards and have a great time,David.

Hi Jorg,
Hope you find a place to enjoy the games, although I have serious doubts about enjoying anything for you tonight, unless you support The Netherlands, ofcourse.

I'm not sure whether I should thank the regular reader who notified me of the new Motoring Law that comes into effect in England shortly. I am sorely tempted to name him for daring me to publish it here and for not having the guts to do so himself.
Seeing as I’m always up for a challenge, I couldn’t resist the temptation.
NEW MOTORING LAW
In order to assist other motorists in identifying potentially dangerous drivers, it's now compulsory for anyone with a lower than average driving ability to display a warning flag, comprising of a red cross on a white background, attached to the top of at least one door of their vehicle. For drivers of exceptionally low ability, additional flags are required.

Now now.
Celebrate the flag and the nation you live in.
I am certain you enjoy seeing Tobagonians proudly display their "colours"?
I love watching the Euro championships and I am elated that English people of all creeds and colours seem to be partying and joining in. At last the UJ is making way for the cross of St George!

I must admit that I have taken Greece into my heart for the next few weeks
If they can keep producing games like they did against portugal, then look out england and France
Seriously though, fair play to England. They did good last night... they aren't going to win though, semis at best in my estimation!!

Gosh! I can't think of anything worse than being in Tobago surrounded by Euro 2004. It rates the same as internet access and mobile phones and UK weather, thing I want to get away from on my holiday.
As an aside, can anyone recommend good psychiatric help for my wife as she says that she has seen Tobago now (only 3 times) and doesn't want to go back for a while. We are off on Thursday but its Gozo this time.
OK there are other destinations in the world and it is right to go and enjoy them. Even if it is just so Tobago seems so much better when you do return.

Richard, you are SO right. I had the misfortune to work with top players (Premier/First Div) for a large part of the past decade. Some of them are really nice guys - when you've got them away from the team. However, put them together and they can be moronic animals. I truly cannot adequately express my disgust at the manner, attitude and behaviour of some/many of them when they're in a pack. It's put me off football for life.
Enjoy your holiday in Gozo. Tobago never loses its charm, so absence may make the heart grow fonder.

Oh Dear Katie
Well I did try to warn you, earlier in this thread. England just weren't strong enough to go the whole way.
I must admit that I am delighted for Portugal though, what a goal from Rui Costa!! On that goal Portugal deserved to win.
That is it for Sven now, he will be gone within the week...
