We spent two weeks here from the last week of May. Initial impression was slight disappointment at the room - it needed some renovation. However, we soon forgot about this and really enjoyed the place. Beautiful beach and gardens, great food, and friendly staff. Unfortunately, the hotel was very empty, so there was little atmosphere at the evening entertainment. Hint - the sea is full of tropical fish - take an underwater camera from the UK! Happy to answer any questions.

The hotel says in its press release that ALL rooms were refurbished - how do you account for the fact that your room didn't appear up to scratch?

I was concerned by your post so checked with the hotel. They were working on the refurbishment whilst I was there last January. I now understand that the refurbishment program is nearly completed. 90% of the rooms have been refurbished at this time. The remaining rooms are basically rooms that are constantly in use due to the refurbishment. These rooms should be finished by the end of September. The comment in the press release was obviously a little hopeful and premature. Things always take longer than you expect in Tobago. That’s ‘island time’ for you.

Thanks My wife and I were married in Tobago - in a small chapel in Patience Hill - in April 2000 and stayed at the Coco Reef. We are planning to return next year and just wanted to follow up on Doug and Brenda's comments. Thanks again
