travellers cheques in euros ????

Post by Arianne »

Hi there!

Is there anyone who can tell me if it is wise to buy travellers cheques in the euro currency instead of US$. This way I don't have to change euro's into dollars at home and thereafter dollars into TT$ in Tobago. Since I am Dutch.....I would obviously like to avoid 1 exchange rate.
But, I don't know if it is easy to change euro travellers cheques euro's into TT$ without too much of a hassle.

I am anxious to hear if I can save some money!!!!
:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Hi Arianne

I understand that changing Euro travellers cheques is NO problem at any of the banks on Tobago, so you can save some money.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your information. This way I can avoid 1 currency exchange. It also means that I don't have to buy US$ to take with me. Do you know by any chance what the exchange rate for euro's is versus US$ if I want to change it in TT$?

Have a nice Sunday, hopefully just as sunny as in the Netherlands!!!!

Byebye,

Hi Arianne

Check out our Banking & Currency page for current rates.

I don't know the exact rates and commission used by the banks, but relative to the international exchange rates, they shoud be much the same whether you're changing Euros or US dollars.

I just updated the rates earlier today, by coincidence. 1 Euro = TT$7.54 compared to US$1 = TT$6.26

Hi Steph,

A promise is a promise!!! I definately will bring a pack. We'll stay at the Sherwood Park Apartments, Carnbee. I'm sure we will have a superb time, judging on all the enthousiastic stories about Tobago / Sherwood on this site!
