Vegetarian Food

Post by B Hill »

I am a vegetarian and am trying to find out if as in other Caribbean islands that we have visited it is common practice for the salads to have fish or ham in them, which means I can't eat them. Is this a common practice on Tobago? We are thinking of going to Le Grand Courlan. Does anyone know what the vegetarian food is like there? I have contacted the hotel but have not received a response so far. :)

Vegetarianism isn't as unusual as you'd think in Tobago.

Although I ended up with more than my fair share of eggplant I did just fine last visit.

Can't help re the Grand Courlan I'm afraid!

PS - make certain you visit the Kariwak.

There are two major groups of vegetarians on Trinidad and Tobago - devout Hindus and Rastafarians - so almost every restaurant will have a number of options.
