U.S. election
Wish my side well. I will be voting when it opens at 7a.m. for Kerry. i know this is totally off topic but I am feeling passionately about what will happen. Luckily, if all fails, I have my Canadian ancestry to fall back upon and enough (not a lot) of money to make me welcome, I think, and a lot of Canadian cousins to leave it to.

While Bush and Kerry may seem similar politically, they are quite different when it comes to social issues. Bush is far-right in terms of forcing his evangelical Christian beliefs on the country, violating our separtation of church and state. He supports federal funding for church programs, is anti-choice, anti-gay, and wished to ammend our constitution to take away state's rights established by the founding fathers. While he preaches for gun rights, he pushed through the patriot act that basically takes away all one's rights if the government determines "terrorist" connections. Bush also refused to sign the Kyoto Protocol establishing world environmental standards. He refused to extend unemployment benefits during this country's most recent economic downturn, yet gave tax cuts to the wealthy. While Kerry and Bush may both be men of wealth and priviledge -- and Kerry wouldn't be my top choice for a challenger -- there are vast differences between these two men.

Whilst not seemingly relevant to this site ... it could be, depending on the outcome of which way this election goes.
Bush is a Neo-Conservative who will stop at nothing in order to interfere in other cultures and covert them to idealist democratic ways.
Kerry may have the presence of the longest surviving tick on the unsightly red arse of an average baboon, but ... and this is a BIG BUTT !! ... would you choose the tick? ... or the Baboon??
My view is that the Baboon will survive with or without the tick, but the tick needs some place to stay and that is where some, if any, hope lies.
Reputations ALWAYS grow !!
There endeth the epistle.
