Hi Susanne

It depends upon what you mean by "not too far". The only restaurant that I can think of that overlooks the sea is the Seahorse Inn at Grafton - but if you're talking about dinner rather than lunch, then it will be dark and you won't see the see anyway. There's also Tamaras at the Coco Reef but that's a little too large to be romantic I guess. The Kariwak can be quite intimate.

Just to ditto what Steve has said - the Seahorse Inn is the place for a romantic meal overlooking the sea. I don't think that Tamaras is that romantic.

Cafe Coco could be romantic, on the right night. Trouble is, as someone else pointed out, the chairs are REALLY uncomfy. I thought it was me until someone else mentioned it! It has a lovely atmosphere, nice food and good service.

Did you notice the seats too Rachel??? How uncomfy are they, I've sat on more comfortable thistles!!

Apart from the seats Cafe Coco would be my recommendation too, it is where I brought Cheryl for her birthday in Tobago. The staff are extremely friendly and make for a very welcoming atmosphere and if you get a table close to the wee stream then you can make it as romantic as you wish. The bottles of Tattinger are also quite reasonably priced!

The Indigo restaurant was also quite romantic in its hillside setting, and the food and service were very good, I can't remember what the views were like, and as Steve mentioned it is usually dark at dinner time anyway.

Bonkers is a fantastic restaurant / bar and the food is alway top notch, but beware, the menu never changes. The breakfast and lunchs are just devine though, my mouth is watering at the thought.

Have a great time, and say hello to Avelon behind the bar at bonkers for us!!

Kariwak or Indigo! I don't think you would be disappointed at either...

Both serve delicious food made from fresh local ingredients in imaginative combinations; both have a quite intimate atmosphere (except for Fridays - BBQ night!), surrounded by lush tropical plants and trees... neither has a sea view but there really aren't any sea-front restaurants of the type you are looking for, but both are on the western side of the island, so why not sit on the beach and watch the sunset together before going for dinner??

Hi Susanne

I'm sure you will be able to book CocoMotion while at the Toucan Inn, but why not check out our Sailing article and make a note of their telephone number.
