Just interested for that return flight from Tobago.
Any info much appreciated.

Hi Julie
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that the 70" flat-bed Club World seats were not available on this flight. They weren't when I last checked, but it could be that they have been introduced now. If anyone knows that they HAVE been introduced, please let me know so that I can update our air travel pages.

Hi Julie
Just an update for you. A kind reader (thanks T & S) have just notified me that they did fly back from Tobago on a BA flight with the new 70" flat seats. "The only way to travel" as the reader said.
So, I checked the BA site (it's no use me emailing them - they don't reply or simply refer me to their website). Now, a few months ago they did announce that the new flat seats would be introduced on the Tobago service (and various other Caribbean services) from 30th September, but then announced a delay. They now say it will not be fully introduced until 1st March 2005. Maybe they were testing an aircraft out with the new seats when our reader travelled with them? Anyway, it's good news for the future - if you can afford the £1500 each.

I am coming out on BA business in early November via Antigua , BA tell me that the 777's are fitted with the new flat beds , strange configuration with 4 rows of two lots of single seats followed by 6 rows of 2 / 4 / 2 , very odd . I suspect they have put the business seats up the front where first class normally is and filled the rest of the plane with economy .To be honest having used the flat beds a few times they are not that comfortable for sleeping for anybody over 5ft 11 of a reasonable size , i think i prefer the old reclining seats

BA Sleeper seats - the only way to travel
Hi,
We just flew back last weekend on the new sleeper seats - for a night flight the only way to go. I agree it is a strange configuration, and the cabin does look oddly messy, but the comfort more than makes up for it.
Try and get an aisle seat though - if you have a window seat, as my partner did, you take off and land backwards - quite strange. and you have to climb over the legs of the person facing you!
They really do go fully flat, and for a person who cannot normally sleep on the ususal club seats, I got a full 5 hrs sleep - bliss.
The only way to travel!

Re: BA Sleeper seats - the only way to travel
We have booked 12 j and k which is in a set of two (aisle and window) , can you explain the single seats in the first 4 rows , are they worth having ?? , is there not a large space in the middle , sounds strange

yes they do go fully flat but they are 70 inches so if you are longer you can't stretch out , also they are not very wide , but better then cattle class !!

I suppose if you are quite tall, it may cause a problem, but as you say, better than the alternative!!
We were in 13 A & B - the first cabin appeared to be 1st class seats and ocupied, although we were told there was no first class service, so not entirely sure. row 12 will be 3 or 4 rows back in the second cabin and there are 4 seats in the middle, each facing alternate ways - difficult to explain, but you'll see. each seat has a rpivacy screen which can be folded back, although if you do have an aisle seat there isn't one of the outside and I did feel slightly exposed as there were people facing me!!
will get used to it next time we fly I'm sure

Just returned , rows 10 thru 15 are club world business (2-4-2 ) , still don't like these seats for sleeping if you are over 6 foot , interestingly rows 1 thru 4 are fitted out with first class seats (1-2-1) but BA are providing a club world business service , but despite best efforts i could not get moved , i suspect these are allocated to genuine business class / gold members / full fare passengers unlike me who was using BA miles
