Renting "push" Bikes and Practicalities

Hi

I am planning to stay in the lowlands area and was wondering what the practicalities of renting and using bicycles would be in that area.

I am not talking "mountain biking" here just a basic "sit up" bike. Can you rent them ? who from ? do you get hats and do the road conditions allow use in the lowlands area and to the beaches?

A couple who were staying at Toucan Inn while we were there rented bikes. I'm not sure where from, but I do know that there was a shop that rented bicycles just up past the turnoff for the airport in Crown Point.

I wouldn't like to say how pratical they are, it is not an activity I would ever persue, but some other regulars on here may be able to help. My one concern would be the drivers, they don't seem to care about avoiding each other let alone a tourist on a bicycle
