SERVICE OUTAGE

My apologies, but in the early hours of this morning the myTobago forum suffered a successful hacking attempt which blocked all access to myTobago. Sadly the vulnerability was known about and a patch issued, but I did not consider the forum at high risk and postponed installation to allow me to concentrate on the new site. BIG MISTAKE!

Anyway, a temporary patch has been installed and we’re back on line now. I may have to take the forum off line for an hour or two tomorrow (Monday 13th December) while I install the ‘proper’ patched version.

At least it wasn't as bad as the power outage in the northern end of Tobago the other week. Power out at 8pm and not back until 4pm next day. MY BEERS GOT WARM!

WARM beer?

I'll have you know that the English preference for warm beer went out about the same time that curry replaced Roast Beef & Yorkshire as our national dish.

still meet some "prehistoric" ones who order warm beers here and get a first surprised and not believing and finally a disgusted look and if they are lucky a warm beer...

Nah!!! They must be Irish or Scottish or even Welsh pretending to be English. I can't believe that any English person would stoop so low. You'll be telling me next that they had socks and sandals and wore a handkerchief knotted at each corner on their head.

I like warm beer, but I owe a great debt of gratitude to my best friends who discouraged me from wearing socks and sandals some years ago ... never worn a knotted handkerchief though

It's the real ale drinkers that like it warm ... or room temperature ... how can you drink chilled real ale?

Having said all that, I like Carib cold, like any other lager I drink so luckily I have have not experienced, or never will, Brian's withering stare, unless he starts serving Theakstons !!!

As an Old Peculiar sort of bloke, I've always thought that the environment dictates the type of thirst one develops. A cold Stag wouldn't have appealed much tonight on my pre-supper visit to the local. However, with the high humidity and temperatures of Tobago, I'm not sure whether real ales at room temperature would be a huge seller! Regards to all, Neil.

Socks and sandals are fine but not in Tobago or anywhere of similar clime. I use them here in the UK. Well sort of.

If I am out on a nice day I'll wear shorts and sandals but I may take a pair of socks with me in case it turns chilly. Sort of half way house between sandals as they should be worn and the more uncomfortable shoe.

anywhay: that's one of the great things about tobago, nobody cares much waht you wear, how you look, it is just not important!
