I wonder how the connecting flights are from Trinidad to Tobago via Tobago Express. I've heard they run about 10 times a day and are reliable. However, others have told me horror stories about flights out of Trinidad to Grenada, etc. Do you think it would be necessary to book one of these Tobago Express flights, or just grab the first one that comes along. Been enjoying your site and looking forward to a couple weeks in Tobago, in just three more weeks...winters been far too wintery here!

Cheryl - Tobago Express ceased operations earlier this year the route has been successfully taken over by Caribbean Star airlines as far as I know. The exact number of flights per day you can check on their website but it isn't called the airbridge for nothing! Fares are TT$200 return if you book in advance and I would reccomend doing so but a week ahead is usually quite sufficient personally I never buy our tickets for our trip to Port of Spain until after we arrive in Tobago. If you are arriving in Port Of Spain wanting to connect to Tobago then get the tickets sorted either over the net or via your ticketing agent at yourpoint of origin.

Hi Ian, sorry, this is not quite right, Tobago Express is alive and kicking and the main airline on the route, Caribbean Star and Liat together have only about 3 flights a day. Tobago Express cannot be booked internationally because they are not listed in the big reservation systems like Sabre or Amadeus , you can book a flight online online or with us, simply send us an e-mail : [email protected]

Patrick - Thanks for the clarification on the situation I had almost forgotten about the essential Trini business philosophy of saying you are going to do one thing and doing another usually the exact opposite! As most of my Trini friends are currently spending as much time in the UK as I do I will not need to make the trip to PoS this year but it is nice to know for those that do there are at least alternatives on the airbridge.

We managed to reserve flights from the UK, by emailing the ticket office in Tobago '[email protected]'. They were hugely helpful and this enabled us to take advantage of the lower fare which needs to be booked more than 7 days in advance. We emailed the flights we wished to travel on (which can be found on the website), our names, and international flight details and simply paid and collected tickets prior to departure. Couldn't have been easier! Hope this helps!
