Easter Goat & Crab Races - Buccoo

Post by Dan Rotstein »

Greetings from chilly Canada! Can't wait to get to beautiful T&T in late March. I've seen and heard wonderful things on this great site but nothing specific to the 2005 Easter goat races in Buccoo. Could someone fill me in on which day and time the races take place, perhaps some more general info. such as atmosphere and other events taking place over the same weekend and where all the action happens. Sounds like a lot of fun...
I've also read references to a "Sunday School" event with vendors and activity. Where and when does this happen?

Finally, I understand rooms can be rented in locals' homes for about 50TT per night. What do you think of this idea whilst in Buccoo?

Cheers,
Dan

Hi,

The information is within the main pages, under Out and About->Calendar of events:

http://www.mytobago.info/calendar.php

It shows that they are happening on 28th/29th March 2005.

Thanks Steve. I see the dates. Are you able to answer my other queries?

I think that the general information that you are looking for, regarding events and local scene and, is very well covered in the main pages of this site - try the Events section, and searching the main site with keywords like "Sunday School" and you should find what you are after.

Regarding guest rooms at around 50TT per night - wow  that is very cheap, at about £4.50UK per night! 50US$ is more typical, though I guess that is not what you want. Are you expecting a roof?

I just tried Eat and Sleep->Accommodation and entered US30$ as maximum and mostly only properties for which no price was available came up, though there were a couple for 20US$, which is about 120TT I guess? I suggest that you run the search and see what comes up.
