Theft from Baggage

Post by TimHyde »

Whilst the early check-in facility at Crown Point is very useful, travellers should be aware that it leaves a long time for errant fingers to search your case. My partner lost a small jewelery case that was well hidden in her case on Feb 14th and was not amused to find the loss was not covered by travel insurance. The locals blame the luggage handlers at Gatwick, but as it took less than half an hour to arrive there, but was in Tobago airport for over six hours, you can draw your own conclusions.

I was also the victim of a theft from my suitcase last year, travelling from Gatwick to Tobago. A pair of expensive(ish) trainers.

Initially I blamed the fact that there was a total blackout on arrival at Crown Point, and our baggage was flung in all directions by the time we got to it.

I am now convinced it was at rifled at gatwick as our flight had been delayed by 2 1/2 hours and i have never met a group of people less suited to customer service in my life, what pigs!

After many unsuccessful attempts at contacting my insurance company (insure and go) who I will never use again, and a letter to the airline I was left out of pocket and wihout any trainers for my holiday (which despite the start was amazing).

I went again this year and the staff at Gatwick seemed to have been sent on a training course in manners.
