Finally! YYZ-TAB direct! Waited 10 years to return!

Post by Rory McEvoy »

Greetings from Toronto!

Having visited Tobago back in 1988 and again in 1989 and had such a wonderful and amazing time there, my wife and I planned to return (alone!) one day.

Having twice endured the chaos at Tobago's Crown Point (I know the runway extension was under construction at that time) and finally getting into POS in time to be last in line for the Toronto flight, we swore, never again! We had two adults and two kids separated for the entire flight, including being held on board at Barbados in an oven-like 1011 for over an hour.

I really hope the story about a "direct" YYZ-TAB flight is true.
BUT, are we talking about DIRECT or non-stop? The difference is huge!

The flight down is long enough already without the chaos and time loss of going through customs and immigration at POS. And of course there's the old problem of the return flight. If the flight originates TAB-YYZ there's no problem. Otherwise a direct flight is useless without advance seat assignments and boarding passes!

For us, Tobago is one of the most wonderful places ever visited, but after two round-the-world trips, it was the most problematic thanks to BWIA.

Can anyone please clarify the situation as it now stands?

Thank you!
