Dive centers arounf Crown Point

Post by Kevin Hampson »

Hi All,
Has any one any feed back on dive centers around the airport end of Tobago?
I've seen a report on the Hiltons center, but I'll be staying closer to the airport and there are a few others.

I'm planning a 2 center trip this time, a week in Speyside which will be Aquamarine at BWI but I'm still looking for a dive center second a week around Crown Point.

Many thanks
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

October 2003 we dived for two weeks with SubLime Scuba, based in the Tropikist Hotel at Crown point. Barry St. George, owner/instructor, is a very nice (local) guy who runs a good boat and knows his way around. 28 days to go and we will be aboard his vessel to experience some great diving and good liming, again    .

Just to be complete; Barry can be contacted at [email protected] or you can visit his website on http://www.sublimescuba.com.

If you run into him before we do.....say hi!
Cheers,
Toine

Hi Kevin,

Sorry, the right website is http://www.sublimescuba.de
Last year we did write a review on sublime scuba. The article is somewhere in this forum.

Cheers,

Hi Tonie & Lia,
read your report on Sublime Scuba, nice work.

what was the daily format for the dive? ie 2 dives a day one in the morning one afternoon or 2 dives in the morning?

Regards
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

When we we're there, Barry took us every second day for a two tank dive. First dive the deeper one, just enough surface time as required follow by the second dive the shallow one. Most of the days we we're back between 12.00 and 2.00 pm, depending on the dive site, so we could do our own thing in the afternoon.
As we became to know him better, the days started to get longer due to the "lime-thing".
There were days we didn't leave mt. Irvine beach longer after dark because of the Liming.

Cheers

Hi Kevin,

You are asking about diving at Crown Point, I would recommend R & Sea Divers. See my comments under the heading about Tobago Dive Experience

i can recommend sublime although unfortunately barry's not been around on my last 3 visits - i believe, from a 3rd party, that there may be some re-organisation going on. then again, i did spot him at mt irvine bay one "working" day so ??

i've used frontier divers, based at sandy point club (not village) for my last trips and would not hesitate to also recommend them. boat leaves 9-10 ish, two tank dives. surface interval sometimes taken back on land depending on sites being dived (divers drift/dream etc). back by the pool no later than 14.00 unless youre making a day of it (sisters, brothers, speyside etc)

regards
paul
