Birdies Nest, Black Rock

Hi Steve

Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to you for all the effort you have put into this website.

Having read it like mad and printed out loads from it before our trip to Tobago (returning only yesterday) we cannot tell you how useful and informative it was.

We stayed at Birdies Nest, and although it was fairly basic, it had everything we needed, and was very clean. It was in a truly fab position, right on the beach, but you really did need a car to get around as the nearest restaurant was a good 20 minutes walk away, although the nearest bar was a mere 10min!

Prince who runs it with his mum was very sweet.

We rarely saw anyone on the beach in front of the house, and the only downside to it was that the sea was quite rough at this part and children certainly would not be able to swim in it. Probably only a strong swimmer would be OK. You could walk up the beach to the Rex Turtle hotel (approx 10-15 min walk) were it was much calmer and swimmer friendly.

We ate out every night and found our 3 BEST BEST BEST restaurants to be Indigo, La Terrazza and The Seahorse Inn.

All served excellent food, and had great friendly staff. probably our most favourite was Indigo overall, due to its food, and ambiance etc.

La Terrazza was also fab, but we found when busy, service and food was very slow in coming (although worth the wait) as only the Chefs wife was serving etc. The Seahorse Inn had the best location (very romantic for those with that inkling) and great food.

We also ate at Me-shells whihc was good: Pantinos, whihc was better than Me-shells but not as good as the other 3 above, but we had a lovely friendly waitress.

The Black Rock cafe was OK.

Miss Esme down at Store bay serves THE BEST beef roti - competely and utterly recommend it - yum yum!

We did some diving which was also very good, with R&Sea, nice helpful staff and owners, would recommond them to anyone.

We were just so impressed with Tobago, so much to (or not if the case may be!) for everyone, such lovely friendly laid back people (even the beach sellers dont hassle you!) We will definately be returning, and like you, want to share it with everyone but also dont want to see it spoilt.......

So thanks again for such a great useful informative website
