I booked to stay at Shirma's Apartments for 5 weeks while on a Medical Elective at Scarborough General Hospital. I was so happy that she arranged for me to be picked up and taken to the airport for my arrival and departure, and also arranged transport for Elective students staying with her to the hospital each morning- one less thing to worry about!

Shirma and her family are lovely, warm welcoming and hospitable people. The Apartments are beautiful and well taken care of, with full kitchen, ensuite bathroom, laundry, AC, wifi and TV facilities. Shirma takes you on a tour of your apartment once settled in, so you know how to use the facilities, enabling you to relax and feel at home. Shirma welcomed requests if anything more was needed i.e. kitchen facilities. Any problems were readily taken care of and if there was a delay, Shirma would keep me up to date on the progress.
Shirma is such a lovely person- she goes out of her way to make her guests feel welcome and comfortable, serving myself and other guests surprise local delicacies- a genuine mark of a caring person.

The Apartments are in a peaceful residential location where the neighbours are friendly and welcoming; one even kindly gave me and other guests a lift to the Independence ceremony at the nearby Dwight Yorke stadium, saving a walk in the high morning sun. Bacolet Beach is 5 mins away- beautiful and scenic. Blue Havana hotel is a 20 min walk away, where I had a great massage for 300tt. Nicely situated 1 min up the road is a convenience store. If you fancy a walk to the town area of Scarborough, it's 30-40 mins along a main road with nice scenery, which makes getting there easy. Shirma and her family are always on hand to give advice on directions, transport options, locations, and local know-how that you can't find on a website- very valuable. I had a great time at Shirma's Apartments and would recommend it to visitors to Tobago.
