Wreck diving at Speyside

Post by Kevin Hampson »

Hi All,
I am off to dive on the Scylla (An RN frigate that has just been sunk off Plymouth) and that reminded me that there was a boat due to be sunk off of Speyside after we left in November.

So loads of questions.
Was it sunk? Has any one dived on it? What’s it like? And what are the chances of diving on it when I'm over in October?

Must dash I'm off to pack my dive gear.
Regards
Kevin

Hi Kevin

It sure was sunk - right off the point between Batteaux Bay and Speyside Bay, out towards Goat Island. I can't tell you anything about it from a diver's perspective, but yes, it is there and yes, you will be able to use it.

Thanks Steve,
Yet another thing to look forward too.
I'll look forward to geting some info on any one that has dived on it.

Out of interest does any one know if there are any "real" wrecks off Tobago or are there only the two that have been sunk for divers?

Regards
Kevin
