I don't even know where to begin - all I can say is Shirma and her family are fantastic hosts and could not have made my time in Tobago any better!

I stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment which was a good size for 2 people. Both bedrooms were large with AC and each had en-suite. We had a decent sized kitchen/dinning room area and also a washroom with washing machine etc off of the larger bedroom. The garden area outside is beautiful, full of plants and mango trees and there is a gazebo to sit in for food/drinks and also sun loungers. If anything needs done around the apartment while you are there (eg change has canisters) it is done quickly and without any hassle at all.

The location is also good. For elective students like us it is not too far from the hospital and it is within walking distance to Bacolet beach and the Bacolet bars (approx 10mins). It's a little further to walk into Scarborough (30mins) although taxis are very cheap (25-30 TT$ / £3). The main beaches/ bars etc are in the crown point area which is about 20mins drive away, but again taxis are cheap. As a whole Tobago doesn't really have much public transport so we relied heavily on taxis but Shirma provided the numbers of some local drivers she knows to be reliable which was invaluable.

The real strength of Shirma's is the extra things she adds on which really make your stay special. Things like getting picked up from the airport and going to the shops when you arrive, going food shopping once a week, getting a lift into the hospital each morning free of charge just give you less to worry about. The entire Wilson family are extremely friendly and you really are made to feel part of the family while you are there - they could not have been more welcoming to us! We also had Sunday lunch which was fantastic and definitely some of the best local cuisine I had.

If you are going to Tobago I could not recommend Shirma's more - especially if you are going for a longer period of time!
