We stayed with Shirma and her family for 6 weeks whilst on our medical elective. We loved every minute of our elective and Shirma had a big part to play in this. We were greeted at the airport by Shirma and very quickly felt right at home. We stayed in a lovely, spacious apartment with everything we could possibly need for our stay. The apartments are in a great location, just a short drive to hospital and it’s very easy to reach the rest of the island, especially the popular south west coast. Clifford and Shirma kindly took us to hospital every day and also for our weekly shopping trip on a Monday. Shirma also lends some local pay-as-you-go mobile phones which are extremely useful.

Shirma’s apartments are perfect for anyone doing their medical elective. It’s the best place to meet other medical students in Tobago, and without this we would not have had anywhere near as good of an elective.

Shirma and her family went above and beyond for us during our stay and we’re so grateful for this. Especially for the lovely Sunday lunches courtesy of Shirma. We were so sad to leave Shirma’s and Tobago, but can’t wait to come back some day!
