Kite Surfing

My boyfriend and returned last week from a week's stay in Tobago. I posted a couple of questions on this site before we went asking about Kite Surfing and having now returned I thought I'd let people know some further details should anyone fancy learning on their next visit!

I can't speak for myself as I didn't actually learn, but my boyfriend had a week of successful lessons with Cool Runnings. The owner of Cool Runnings watersports (which I think is listed on this site) is Franck Sarazin and he takes the lessons personally. He operates out of Mount Irvine Bay but was more than happy to pick us up each day at the beach at Coco Reef where we were staying in his speed boat. The lessons take place (for intermediate) at the lagoon the other side of Pigeon Point and last about 3 hours all up each day with the kite surfer getting about 3 runs of the lagoon in that time with Franck following on the boat giving instruction. I think beginners lessons take place on the beach at the Hilton and more advance surfers are taken to the Hilton side also. He has a wide variety of equipment and teaches complete beginners as well as intermediates and advanced. Franck is also a great guy and is definitely recommended! We contacted him by e-mail through his website before we travelled and he was easily contactable throughout the stay to arrange pick-up times and further lessons. He also does wake boarding and water skiing from the boat if there is insufficient wind.

There are a number of different packages, I think Raymond paid roughly £230 in the end for 4 and a half sessions in the week - one session was cut short by the weather. I think for beginners Franck has a 3 day course and you can add on extra days if you need to.
